About Mortimers

Set in the pedestrianised Mortimer Street area of Herne Bay in Kent, and owned by Richard and Chantal Bartlett is Mortimers Restaurant. Since taking over Mortimers in May 2008 Chantal and Richard have tastefully decorated the restaurant to create a welcoming, homely environment.

 

 

 

 

 

Our licensed traditional English restaurant offers English breakfasts large and small as well as a lighter option with a choice of cereal, fruit salad or porridge and croissant.

Our home cooked roast meals are served with locally sourced freshly cooked vegetables, as well as offering a variety of daily specials including traditional home made dishes such as braised lambs liver in a rich onion gravy, or chicken, mushroom and bacon casserole, braised lamb shanks in a minted gravy or poached salmon steak in a white wine mushroom and prawn sauce. Our desserts include homemade fruit crumble, sherry trifle and homemade pancakes with a choice of fillings.

Our cream tea’s are not to be missed; consisting of a large homemade fruit scone, jam, clotted cream and a pot of tea or freshly ground coffee.

We cater for families, regular customers and visitors alike, and offer smaller meals for those with a smaller appetite, or for children, as well as some children’s dishes.

We offer a loyalty card scheme (buy 4 and get the 5th free) on any sandwich or cream tea. We also offer a Bay and Whit card reduction on breakfasts, cake and coffee deal and cream teas.

We cater for vegetarians with our veggie roast or breakfast and our home made vegetarian quiche. We provide gluten free gravy for those customers who require it. In addition to our breakfast and lunch menu, we provide a variety of snacks and drinks.

We pride ourselves on the friendly service that our staff provide. We are pleased to have attained five stars this year, on the Scores on the Doors scheme, following an inspection on our cleanliness and hygiene standards by our local Council.

We can cater for private evening functions for that special family birthday party or occasion.
